Character Reference Letter Writing

Character Reference Letter Writing: "Notice that no Addressee appears in a letter writing format. You do not know to whom the employee will send your recommendation, so no addressee can be included.

This is the time “To whom it may concern” should be used in character reference letter writing. Some people like to write it like a title: To Whom It May Concern. This is acceptable too."

Google infringes old Lycos patents, must pay $30 million | Ars Technica

Google infringes old Lycos patents, must pay $30 million | Ars Technica: "The patents describe using a combination of "content" and "collaboration" to produce better ads online. The plaintiff says Google's system of advertising, called SmartASS (for SmartAdServingSystem), infringes those patents.

The "content" side of the technology basically means picking ads relevant to a search term; the "collaboration" side means things like measuring how many users actually click on the ads. Google uses that as part of its algorithm-driven auction that instantly determines ad placement. This slide shows how Vringo believes Google is using its patented system."

How To Choose A Niche (Quick Exercise)

How To Choose A Niche (Quick Exercise): "Step outside of your frame of reference for a second, and consider everything that the world has to offer. What appeals to you most?

Dismiss any negative thoughts that appear, and allow yourself to just imagine your ideal life. How would you spend your time? How would you spend money if you had an unlimited amount at your disposal? Jot down everything that comes to mind.

(don't think or hesitate, just jot it down)

Your next step is keyword and market research. Find out if there is interest in that niche, and whether it is a buying market."

Case Study: Niche Site With NO Research?

Case Study: Niche Site With NO Research?: "hen the idea for the domain came to me:

www.TravelingLowCarb.com

A place to share all the things I've figured out for eating low-carb on the go, through airports and at restaurants, while camping, and even my fun & easy meals at home.

My vision was a simple blog with mostly photos and quick tips. A place where people can follow my travels, my progress, and my weird eating habits (lol)...

Getting The Niche Blog Online - Fast!

As I mentioned, the first thing I did was register the domain name. I am quite good at choosing domain names out of thin air, if I do say so myself "

Create perfect meta tags for both human-searchers & Google

Create perfect meta tags for both human-searchers & Google: "If spammy keyword-stuffed meta titles and meta descriptions are not yet being penalised by Google, I’m sure they soon will be as part of the “Google Cleanse”
Good quality titles and descriptions not only increase your click through rate (CTR) from the search engine results page, they can also pre-sell or pre-prepare people of what to expect when they land on the page which can help the subsequent sale or lead conversion (if that’s the purpose of the page)."

4 Ways to Discover Your Strengths | Entrepreneur.com

4 Ways to Discover Your Strengths | Entrepreneur.com: "2. Break away from job titles. To uncover your gifts, you need to explore new roles. "Think of your company as a laboratory," Kashdan says. Encourage flexible roles and see how it goes. "If people are excited about trying something else and you have some evidence that they could be good, then experiment with it," he says.

For example, one executive wanted a more creative, innovative workplace but wasn't the man to do it himself. Kashdan helped him identify a maverick on his staff -- someone creative and unconcerned with others' opinions -- then put that person in charge of innovation. By assigning roles based on strengths, rather than job titles, they were able to create a stronger"

4 Ways to Make Money With Domains: "Some good places to find these aged domains are:

Sedo.com
Flippa.com

It can be quite frustrating and can take a long time trawling all of those sites so I developed my own software called Domain Face to find aged domains."

How to Value a Domain Name

How to Value a Domain Name: "he great thing about this question is that what you do to improve the domain value is the same as what you do to improve your website’s value right now before you sell the domain. Specifically: get more customers visiting your website. The more popular your site is, the more valuable the domain will become. Things like:

Improve your SEO—If your customers can find the site in search they will visit it more often.
Write more content—The more content you have on your site, the more pages there are for people to visit.
Market your site—Get your site out there by marketing in appropriate venues, using social media, and letting people know that it exists."
