We Need to Remember and Never Especially Now.

Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach: History

A PLEA TO THE CITY On November 27, 1984, approximately 500 people packed a meeting of the Miami Beach Planning Board. Dozens of Holocaust survivors from across South Florida were bused in for the meeting, many making emotional pleas to the Board and hoping to sway votes. “I lost five sisters and five brothers,” 79-year-old Clara Linder said in Yiddish through a translator, The Miami Herald reported. “They were all killed.” Machela Oksenhenbler, 80, pulled up her sleeve to show a grainy tattoo on her forearm bearing the numbers 54092, put there by the Nazis.

opportunities: "The second purpose is to educate and inform everyone about the history of the Jewish people, especially from the time in which they lived in Eastern Europe, to the years they spent in whatever country they would eventually call their new home. As it has turned out, this website is more about the families of others, which pleases me greatly as the Museum strives to be inclusive and become a lasting tribute to other families as well."

Critics Consensus: Divergent Disappoints - Rotten Tomatoes

Critics Consensus: Divergent Disappoints - Rotten Tomatoes: " Divergent is a sci-fi allegory about the dangers of conformity. Ironically, critics say the biggest problem with the film is that it borrows too heavily from the likes of The Hunger Games and Harry Potter, leaving its terrific cast stranded in a sea of exposition. In a dystopian future, teenagers are forced to chose one of five factions with which they'll associate for life."
